FAQ's

Q. Are you a shop?

A. No. This is a home based business.

Q. Can I come and look around - do you have ready made cakes for sale like a shop?

A. No, all our cakes are made fresh to order so we do not have cakes you can look at. Visiting is by appointment only and is either to collect a cake or for a consultation. Consultations are held for wedding cakes and large novelty cakes only.

Q. Do you make Gluten Free or Eggless cakes?

A: Yes, I can do both - please ask for details - however please note that neither of these would be prepared in a gluten or egg free kitchen.

Q: Do you sell cake decorating equipment?

A: No

Q: Why do you need so much notice for a cake?

A: Each cake is made individually from scratch, and many require decorations that need to be prepared a few days in advance - plus we get very busy at times and cannot accommodate short notice orders.

Q: Why is a handmade cake more expensive than a supermarket one?

A: It's like the difference between getting a dress handmade and buying from the high street. Supermarket cakes have generally been frozen, and put together on a production line. Handmade cakes are freshly made to your particular specifications and as such take time and expertise to make.

Q: What if I don't have a very big budget - can I still have a handmade cake?

A: The best thing to do if you have a strict budget it to be up front about it in the first place. If we know what budget we're working to we can work with you to give you the cake you want.

Q: Can you send cakes by post or courier?

A: No - they don't travel well

Q: I have a question that isn't covered here - where can I ask it?

A: The best thing to do is to drop me an email to enquiry@fantasyicing.co.uk and I'll try and answer it for you
